Hey there, I’m Juni Cuevas. I’m an actor, cook and drag queen working and living in Santa Monica, CA.
Over the years I have dabbled in many creative crafts including drag. In 2010 I won the first drag competition hosted by RuPaul's Drag Race contestant Victoria "Porkchop" Parker as my drag persona, Alexandra. I have since stopped performing in nightclubs but have now brought my drag into the kitchen and behind the camera, because as it turns out I’m a better cook than a drag queen. My love for food led me to participate in Season 9 of MasterChef placing me in the top 17 homecooks in America with my specialties including Mexican and French influenced vegan/vegetarian cuisine and pastries. But that was only the beginning of my journey.
It has taken me nearly 3 decades to come to a realization and gain an insight into my life I didn’t have before. I felt that in all the career paths I took I constantly kept running into walls. Don’t you dread that interview question of “where do you see yourself in five years?” Honey, I didn’t even know where I saw myself 10 minutes from then but now I do. I’ve discovered my love for the entertainment industry. I know it is no walk in the park and Hollywood is known for being superficial but life experiences have prepared me and have given me tough skin to take on anything head on. I’m thankful for my amazing acting coach, Drew Matthews, and the support of my friends and loved ones who want nothing more than to see me succeed. My advice to all of you is to not give up or feel discouraged if you keep running into walls, break them down, climb them or find a way around because you’re never too old to pursue your dreams and with a little determination anything is possible.
