Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
As you guys already know I am a sweets fiend. If it's sweet I will probably put it in my mouth, well that goes for a lot of other things...but sweets is definitely one of those! I use this recipe whenever I am having a craving for something chocolatey, warm, gooey and ooey. Using browned butter adds a really nice nutty taste and creates a depth of flavor you didn't know you needed.
Yields about 2 dozen
Ingredients:
2 cups AP flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3/4c browned butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups chocolate chips
In a small sauce pan heat up the butter until it starts to bubble and turns into a nice golden brown. Be sure to scrape up all the little bits at the bottom. You want it to look like the picture on the side.
Let it cool. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Once butter has cooled in a large bowl beat butter and sugar until well combined.
Add eggs and vanilla and continue beating until it's nice and creamy.
Add dry ingredients until just combined and then fold in chocolate chips and chunks. Refrigerate overnight or set in freezer for 1 to 2hrs.
Preheat your oven to 325. Then drop onto cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicon mat and bake for 15-18 minutes.
VOILA! perfect beautiful cookies you can enjoy with a nice glass of cold milk.
